Wireless flash triggers

http://www.gadgetinfinity.com/product.php?productid=17204&cat=274&page=1

The first thing is the cactus v4 flash trigger set. These things are wireless (radio) and the cheapest thriggers on the market. I have their earlier version the V2s that worked pretty well. A lot of people modified them to work more effectively, and they've tried to add those modifications in the new version. Any way, I've heard good things about the new version and i love mine so i thought you all would like to check them out.

Strobe Clamp

LINK

This is a very useful piece of equipment for mounting flashes to a standard 1/4" threaded stud. There are cheaper ones that typically come with umbrellas/strobe mounts but they can come loose and let your flash fall to the ground. I have had much luck with these.

The part it replaces is the silver mount at the top of this. This umbrella mount works great by the way minus the strobe mount. So I recommend buying both of these units together to mount your flash and umbrella to a light stand.

For my final project I want my outcome to look something like Philip Lorca Dicorcia's work, except I want it to look a little less saturated. Also, I want to shoot a lot of interior spaces, mostly because I don't have a lot of experience with them.

Also, I'm trying out more action photography, specifically related to bikes and bike culture as well as band photography (not pictured).

Here is some of the work that I did in the studio last semester. I was making an attempt at combining my interests in skateboarding and photography and this is the work that resulted.

I was anxious to take this outside of the studio because there are obvious limitations for sports photography in a small room. Here is some location skate photography by Ryan Allan. These are the kind of images I would like to be making.

Location Artists that I like

Margaret Bourke-White.

Robert Elswit is a cinematographer (won oscar for There Will Be Blood, nominated for Good Night and Good Luck). He also took this image, which I like very much. I am always inspired by movies because of their constant attention to lighting and composition.

Francois Duhamel is a still photographer in Hollywood. Worked on such movies as Revolutionary Road, Inglorious Basterds, There Will Be Blood, Jarhead, and The Hours.

Annie Leibovitz

I was watching The Millionaire Matchmaker, and this guy was on, so I googled him! The opening picture of Elijah Wood reminds me of a project Dena did last semester, so I thought she would enjoy it.
